The 2022 Ducati Streetfighter V2 joins Ducati’s range of nude sports bikes, joining its big sister the Ducati Streefighter V4, V4S (RM145.900 in Malaysia) and the limited edition V4SP as well as the recently launched ducati monster (69,900 euros). Taking the Panigale V2 (RM109.900) as a base, the Streetfighter V2, like the Streetfighter V4, is essentially a Ducati sports bike without a body.

With the Road V4 engine that now powers the Borgo Panigale company’s liter bikes, the Ducati V-twin still has a place in the catalog. Powering the Streetfighter V2 is the same 955 cc twin-cylinder Superquadro, Euro 5 homologated, which produces 153 HP at 0.750 rpm and 101.4 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm.

The gearbox on the Streetfighter V2 differs from its sporty stablemate, arriving with a final gear ratio of 15/45 against the Panigale V215/43. The engine is used as a stressed element in the die-cast aluminum monocoque frame with the 16mm longer single-sided swingarm on the Streetfighter V2 hanging from the rear of the power plant and adding stability to the whole package.

The suspension is made with a fully adjustable 43mm diameter Showa BPF (Big Piston Fork) at the front and a similarly adjustable Sachs monoshock. The settings on the Streetfighter V2, according to Ducati, are calibrated with an eye to comfort on the road, but are also adjustable for track riding.

Braking uses Brembo M4.32 Moonobloc calipers, similar to the Panigale V2 with 320mm diameter floating brake discs. As a concession to the street-riding feel of the Streetfighter V2, the brake pads are less aggressive formulation, while still providing a braking feel and performance more suited to road and highway use.

Taking the electronic suite of the Panigale V2, the Streetfighter V2 features three driving modes, ABS cornering with slip control, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and quick up and down shifting. The Streetfighter V2 2022 is expected to arrive in Ducati dealerships starting December 2021, available in Ducati Red with black wheels.
