2022 Nissan Sentra starts at $ 20,485, with minor updates

After giving us a redesigned suit Sentra for model year 2020, Nissan is mostly in possession of its bread-and-butter sedan for 2022. The automaker raised its prices in 2021 by a few hundred dollars, but also upgraded the optional LED projector headlights in the Premium package for SV trims and SR so that the sedan would earn Top Safety Pick status from Road Safety Insurance Institute. Prices remain stable for 2022 on two of the three trims, with the top-tier Sentra SR climbing $ 250.

The prices for the range, including the $ 975 destination fee, are:

  • Sentra S: $ 20,485
  • Sentra SV: $ 21,545
  • Sentra SR: $ 23,075

There are three small updates, starting with the Safety Shield 360 suite of driver assistance aids which comes standard across the range. Safety Shield 360 adds automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic warning, lane departure warning, high beam assistance and automatic rear braking.

The Sentra SV gets the option of an all-season package. This brings together the dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and remote engine starting. The SR will be available with a new Midnight Edition package that dunks the V-motion grille, rear spoiler, rear diffuser and black badges and bolts on a set of 18-inch alloy wheels. Neither All-Weather nor Midnight Edition packages have appeared on Nissan Sentra configurator at the time of writing, so we’re not sure how much they’ll add to the MSRP.

Under the hood, the Sentra continues with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that delivers 149 horsepower and 146 Nm of torque, pushing power to the front wheels through Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission.
