2022 Volkswagen Tiguan recalled for brake problems

2022 Volkswagen Tiguan recalled for brake problems
VW recalls 1,600 Tiguan SUVs because the brake hose nuts may not have been tightened.

– Nearly 1,600 Volkswagen Tiguan SUVs are recalled to check for loose nuts holding the brake lines located near the front right wheel arches.

The 2022 VW Tiguan may leak brake fluid which increases stopping distances.

However, VW claims that the brake problem will occur on only one brake circuit with reduced performance.

Volkswagen encountered the problem in September with a loose brake hose nut. VW engineers investigated the problem and determined that it occurred during production.

A Tiguan driver should see a warning light if the brake fluid level is too low.

Nearly 1,300 of the Tiguans are recalled in the United States and 300 SUVs are recalled in Canada.

Volkswagen dealers will inspect and ensure that the brake hose nuts are tightened to specification.

VW Tiguan recall notices will be sent by post on 31 December 2021.

Tiguan owners can contact Volkswagen at 800-893-5298 and refer to the recall number 19Q4.
