6 tested positive for coronavirus at Fiorentina – News Block

Fiorentina doctors have identified 6 cases of coronavirus. Three Fiorentina players and three staff members have tested positive. The tests were carried out before the player’s return to training after a 2-month break as the coronavirus spread throughout Italy. Recently, the government had given the green light to Serie A teams to return to individual training.

All 6 players and staff members have been sent home where they will remain in isolation and follow government protocols. The club will prepare its players and staff members to undergo the corona test on Friday. Fiorentina did not name the players and has said optional individual training sessions will follow.

Three Fiorentina players had tested positive in early March, including Wolves’ Patrick Cutrone, German Pezzella and Dusan Vlahovic. They have not fully recovered.

Another Serie A teammate, Torino, announced that one of their players tested positive. The player was never named.

Juventus’ Paulo Dybala and Atlanta goalkeeper Marco Spotiello have recovered from Covid this week

A total of 16 Serie A players have tested positive. The government has allowed the teams to continue their training and would resume the league after meeting with the stakeholders involved.
