A teenager died yesterday after being struck by a car near Bournemouth airport.
Dorset Police have opened an investigation into horrific traffic collision that claimed the life of a 16-year-old Christchurch resident.
As paramedics rushed to the scene after 9:37pm last night, the unidentified child died and his next of kin were informed.
A man was also arrested on suspicion of driving offenses and officers are now appealing to the public for more information.
Inspector Craig Tatton, of the Highways Policing Team, said: “Tragically, a young man has lost his life and our thoughts are with his family at this incredibly difficult time.”

We are conducting a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of the incident and I urge any witnesses to contact us.
“We are aware that the current road closure has a major impact on the site and I am very grateful for everyone’s patience while it is necessary to remain on site to allow us to gather all the required evidence.”
Those who may have captured relevant dashcam footage are also urged to contact the Dorset force.
