Actress Aahana Kumra recently took to Instagram to pay tribute to Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
In a series of images shared on Instagram, the actress can be seen dressed as the cricketer, full of her uniform and hairstyle. But there was one thing that stood out: her makeup, which was made a few shades darker to match the bowler’s skin tone.
This, of course, was not well received by netizens who yelled Marzi actor by himself.
Take a look at his post below:
“No, I am not promoting any movies. This is purely a tribute to the woman I admire the most after spending time with her and learning all her story about her journey, her difficulties, and her passion for the sport! @Jhulangoswami affectionately called Jhulan di by all her teammates is loved and admired by all members of the Indian women’s cricket team! “She captioned her post.
She added: “This series of photos is my tribute to her and I hope that as actresses one day we can break stereotypes and be the best versions of ourselves by telling the best stories !! @jhulangoswami thanks for your story! And I wish and pray the best for you forever! “
However, the internet people weren’t too impressed and yelled at Kumra, with one user saying, “What a tribute … to color you black,” and another noted, “Why don’t we hire actors with a similar color tone.”
Goswami, however, came to the actor’s rescue and said, “Good job, keep it up! 😊🏏 “
