In Adele: Just one night TV special that aired last night in the US, the British singer discussed her weight loss of 100 pounds (about 45 kg) with the talk show queen, saying it “was never about” to “get thin” but to feel stronger after her divorce from husband Simon Konecki.
“Once I realized I had a lot of work to do on myself, I stopped drinking and started exercising a lot… to somehow keep myself centered,” she recalled in the interview.

The 33-year-old revealed that she suffered from “terrible anxiety attacks” that completely “paralyzed” her when her two-year marriage ended in 2019.
The couple, who had been together since 2011 and shared their nine-year-old son Angelo, ended their divorce in January of this year. Shortly after their separation, Adele realized that working with a trainer at the gym helped ease her anxiety.
“It has become my moment,” he said. “Having a plan every day … having these kinds of pins in my day, it helped keep me together.”
Adele stressed that she “wasn’t worried about” [weight] at all “and his work in the gym simply” helped to achieve [her] right mind. ”Because of this, she was able to put aside some of the criticisms that came with her recent weight loss.
“I’m not surprised or bothered by any of the [weight comments] because my body has been objectified throughout my career, “he said,” but it’s not my job to make people feel validated by their body. “
Elsewhere in Oprah’s interview, Adele admitted that it was difficult to accept being a single parent.
“It’s a process. You know, the process of a divorce, the process of being a single parent,” she said. “The process of not seeing your child every single day wasn’t really a plan I had when I became a mom. The process of coming in for yourself every day, showing up for yourself every single day and continuing to run a home, run a business commercial.
“So many people know what I’m talking about and I feel that way too. I juggle those things too. I felt like I didn’t do it anymore. And also trying to move forward with intention, not just trying to get out of it for no reason. your feet hurt, walking through all that concrete. “
