In Word: Looking for some old but fun games to play without putting a hand in your virtual wallet? So here’s some good news: Amazon Prime subscribers can get the standard edition of Battlefield 1 right now, and Battlefield V will be free on August 2.
From now until August 4, members of Top games, which is free for Prime subscribers, you can get the PC version of Battlefield 1 for nothing. It can be redeemed through Origin through the Origin Store or Origin Client.
Battlefield 1 (2016) takes the action to World War I, where those who prefer to do things alone can enjoy six “War Stories”, excellent mini-campaigns that are shown through the eyes of separate Allied soldiers of different nationalities. But the main attraction is the 64-person multiplayer mode.
The game’s successor, Battlefield V, comes to Prime Gaming Monday, August 2. You might remember that Battlefield V was the first game to support real-time ray tracing when it arrived in 2018, and its WWII setup still looks good today. It sold 7.3 million copies at the end of 2018, although it was still less than half of what Battlefield 1 achieved during the same period.
With Battlefield 2042 scheduled to launch on October 22, this is a good opportunity to reconnect with the Battlefield series.
