American Express Global Business Travel has added expense management to its mobile app for customers using the Neo Travel and Expense platform. The app uses optical character recognition and machine learning to scan receipt photos for data to complete expense reports and link them to your current trip. Users can also scan PDF receipts imported from their email.
GBT said in a statement that it is the only global travel management company to offer a proprietary end-to-end travel and expense management solution on a mobile platform. The Neo platform was originally developed by the European travel and expense provider KDS prior to that company acquisition by Amex GBT in 2016. It was built to meet the needs of the region’s complex financial regulatory landscape. This development has continued, with Neo recently certified for the delivery of expenses in Spain. The company said the complete Neo solution is available to GBT customers in countries around the world, including the United States and Canada.
