Colin Trevorrow was originally on board to direct the latest installment in the sequel trilogy. However the jurassic world The director parted ways with Lucasfilm due to creative differences. JJ Abrams, who directed The awakening of the force, took a step back to finish what he started. Things would undoubtedly have been different if Trevorrow had stayed with that.
