The 45-year-old man, who is currently in a custody battle with ex Brad Pitt, admitted that shooting his new movie Those who wish me dead it was “very healing” for her.
“I am attracted to people who have been through something and are broken and then find the way forward and get over it,” he explained to Entertainment tonight in a behind-the-scenes video of the set.
“As an artist, it’s very healing to play people like that. She has been very healing to me because you get so broken and then you wake up.”

Jolie plays wildland firefighter Hannah Faber in the thriller, who is tasked with protecting a 12-year-old boy (played by Australian actor Finn Little) from hitmen after witnessing a murder, as fire burns around him. .
“On the surface, it feels like a great thriller, a great adventure through unusual terrain within a great fire,” he explained. “Underneath, it’s a very emotional movie. It’s about people who have a great impact on each other and change each other. Emotionally and practically, they go through the fire.”
Jolie admitted British vogue at the beginning of the year that “The last few years have been quite rough. I have been concentrating on healing our family. It is slowly coming back, like ice melting and blood returning to my body.”

The couple separated in 2016 after 12 years together. The divorce was finalized in 2019, although custody of her children and property is still being processed in court.
