A year ago, the Minnesota Timberwolves were a play-in tournament team that lost in five games in the first round of the NBA playoffs to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets.

But last season, they jumped to third place in the Western Conference and defeated the Nuggets in the second round of the playoffs to reach the Western Conference Finals for the second time in franchise history.

They lost there in five games to the Dallas Mavericks, and Anthony Edwards told Vince Goodwill that he’s already moved on from that loss, according to Yahoo Sports.

As Minnesota advanced to the NBA Finals, Edwards made it known that he arrives as a true superstar.

As his team tore through the Nuggets in the second half of Game 7 in Denver, Edwards shot just 6 of 24, but he made his mark on the defensive end as the Nuggets were held to just 37 points after halftime.

Edwards averaged 25.9 points and 5.1 assists per game in the regular season and raised those numbers to 27.6 points and 6.5 assists per game in 16 postseason games this spring.

He is arguably the most confident player in the game today, but his immense faith comes across as a matter-of-fact attitude rather than irritating arrogance, especially considering his talent and skill level.

He’ll be playing for Team USA at the 2024 Summer Olympics in a few weeks, and this October, he and his Timberwolves will begin their quest to build on last season’s success and truly compete for an NBA championship.
