Arlo has released an update to its iOS app that fixes a bug that prevents users from adding their smart devices to the HomeKit platform.
The company confirmed AppleInsider that their latest iOS app update, version 3.5.1, contains a fix for the problem. That version, which has a release date of August 6, is currently available on the App Store.
“Arlo appreciates the patience of our loyal customers and is pleased to share that a version of the iOS app with a fix to the HomeKit issue is now available,” the company said.
At the beginning of August, AppleInsider began receiving user reports of problems adding new Arlo devices to HomeKit. The issue appeared to affect HomeKit tokens, causing users to get stuck at the “Requesting Information from HomeKit” screen when adding devices to Apple’s smart home platform.
Users who have automatic app updates enabled should see the solution in a few days. For all other users, version 3.5.1 of the Arlo app is currently available for download from the App Store.
In an Aug. 6 forum post, an Arlo moderator said that users who continue to experience problems adding devices to HomeKit should contact the company to reset the HomeKit token.
