Saturday’s game between the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Padres was suspended in the sixth inning after a shooting outside the National Park.
The shooting was an exchange between people in two cars. It left three people injured, the Metropolitan Police Department said, according to ESPN. One of the people shot was a woman who was attending Saturday’s game. They shot him while he was outside the stadium.
Later, two people in one of the cars entered the hospital with gunshot wounds and were being questioned by the police. Investigators were still trying to locate the second vehicle involved in the shooting.
The shots caused a chaotic scene within the National Park. The players quickly left the field and headed to their respective dressing rooms as some fans took cover in the dugouts.
