New images and specifications of the rumored “Beats Studio Buds” have appeared in a Taiwanese government regulatory database ahead of a possible upcoming release.
Compared to current Beats By Dre headphones or Apple AirPods, the “Beats Studio Buds” are expected to have a smaller design without an ear wrap, a similar form factor to the headphones released by Google or Samsung. The existence of the “Beats Studio Buds” was first revealed in a beta version of iOS in May.
Before a possible release, it appears that “Beats Studio Buds” continue to appear in regulatory databases. On May 24, the headphones appeared at an FCC filing. Now, additional images and details about the unreleased headphones have appeared in the Taiwan National Communications Commission database.
The images first seen by MacRumors, confirm the size of the headphones. Another image comes out of the oval-shaped case, which will be charged via a USB-C port. In addition to the black color seen in the images in the database, “Beats Studio Pro” could also be available in white and red.
It’s unclear when “Beats Studio Pro” will actually debut to the public, but the unreleased headphones have already been seen in the wild. LeBron James, for example, was seen wearing them in a May 26 Instagram post. The Beats were also featured in a music video by artist Roddy Ricch.
Along with “Beats Studio Pro”, Apple is also working on a successor to AirPods that could combine design elements from both standard AirPods and AirPods Pro.
