Increasingly, the MCU is starting to feel like the most expensive TV series in the world rather than a movie franchise. Each new movie is increasingly interconnected with other movies in the series. Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role as Scarlet Witch, also known as Wanda Maximoff, in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Insanity with Benedict Cumberbatch. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Olsen explained that Wanda’s personal journey that began with WandaVision will continue very naturally in the Strange doctor continuation.
“[Benedict Cumberbatch] had really positive things to say about how [WandaVision] I think they showed it to him before it was all aired. I really didn’t know what was going on in Strange doctor until just before we fired again [the film]. That was the first time I heard my role. And I was a little nervous because I couldn’t change certain things in WandaVision to support what will happen in Strange doctor. For any actor, that lack of control can be difficult. But she said it’s really this perfect journey that you see her go through, to be invested in Strange doctor, also. That made me feel good, because I feel that way myself. I feel like we’ve managed to make a lot of sense. “
Marvel Studios has been famous for being very strict about keeping their plans for the MCU strict, so much so that actors often have to settle for sketchy scripts that leave them in the dark regarding the full plots of their own movies. But Cumberbatch has always insisted on having full knowledge of the projects he’s a part of in the role of Doctor Strange, so it’s no wonder he would have wanted to see WandaVision to understand how it would impact Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Insanity.
When the audience last saw Scarlet Witch in WandaVisionHe had finally embraced the full extent of his amazing powers and was learning new ways to control reality. According to Elizabeth olsenMaking her own series has made her more confident to play Wanda in future MCU projects.
“WandaVision It also made me feel more confident playing it. Working in Strange doctor Right after, I feel like my instincts are correct. It feels like you want to feel all the time, which is a bit difficult when you have so little screen time and everything that is happening off the page is in your head and not in the head of the writer. But the really satisfying thing about this whole project was when Jac [Schaeffer] She was throwing it at me, it was as if the answers she had in my head as an actress somehow magically reached her brain without me having to verbalize them.
