Great Britain received a tough Billie Jean King Cup qualifier match against the Czech Republic this April.
Anne Keothavong’s squad couldn’t tackle a more difficult task with the current Czech squad, led by Roland Garros champion Barbora Krejcikova, currently fourth in the Billie Jean King Cup standings.
They won the event six times between 2011 and 2018 and will be home with a decision on both the venue and the date to be announced in the coming weeks.
Earlier this year the team of Heather Watson, Katie Boulter, Harriet Dart, Katie Swan and Jodie Burrage defeated Mexico in their Play-Off tie at Roehampton’s National Tennis Center.
But now they have to overtake the Czechs to make it to the 2022 final.
Keothavong said: “The team is looking forward to taking on the Czech Republic in the 2022 qualifiers and hopefully continuing our momentum in the Billie Jean King Cup next year.”
