The Wizard has proven to be a huge success for Netflix, and it didn’t take long for the streaming service to not only renew the series for a second season, develop an anime feature film, but also launch a prequel series that revolves around creating of the first sorcerer. Today it was announced that Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek: Discovery) has joined the cast as Scían.
Set in an elven world 1200 years before the main series, The Witcher: Blood Origin will tell a story lost in time: the creation of the first Witcher prototype and the events that lead to the fundamental “conjunction of the spheres”, when the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged to become one. Michelle Yeoh’s character Scían is the last of her nomadic tribe of sword elves. “No one can come close to his sword art, and no one carries so much loss in their heart.“read the official description.”When the opportunity presents itself to retrieve a stolen holy sword, snatched from her fallen tribe by nefarious means, she embarks on a deadly quest that will change the outcome of the continent.“

The six-part prequel will star Laurence O’Fuarain as Fjall. “Born into a clan of warriors who swore to protect a king, Fjall bears a deep scar inside him, the death of a loved one who fell in battle trying to save him.“read the official description.”A scar that will not allow you to settle or make peace with yourself or the world around you. In his quest for redemption, Fjall will find himself fighting alongside the most unlikely of allies as he makes his way to vengeance across a troubled continent.“It is not known when The Witcher: Blood Origin will be released, but the anime movie, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, will premiere later this year, followed by the second season of the main series late next year.
