The Toronto Blue Jays expect to reach MLB’s 85 percent vaccination threshold for relaxed COVID-19 protocols by next Monday, according to Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith.
The league announced Friday that two-thirds of its 30 teams, or a total of 20, have already hit the mark for players and other personnel on the field.
MLB and MLBPA also said that two additional teams had reached the 85 percent level having received the final doses and will be able to ease protections against the novel coronavirus in the next two weeks.
These clubs can then eliminate the requirements for face masks in dugouts and bullpens, and ease mobility restrictions during road trips.
MLB said on Friday that 85.2 percent of level people, which include players, managers, coaches, coaches and support staff, had been partially or fully vaccinated, 0.7 percent more than the previous week, and 82.9 percent had been fully vaccinated. 1.7 percent more than the previous week.
