World Soccer Talk has reported that Apple TV+ is currently in talks to acquire broadcast rights to Bundesliga games.
ESPN has the rights to the Bundesliga in the US until the 2026/27 season, but now it looks like Apple will take over once the contract is up. The Bundesliga is the professional association football league in Germany and is known for the team FC Bayern Munich. ESPN’s deal with the Bundesliga is said to be for $30 million per year and will conclude in the 25/26 season. Furthermore, it is believed that the league’s contract with DAZN, a Canadian company, will also expire in 2026.

After the acquisition of broadcast rights, Apple could offer sports content globally and for all Apple TV+ subscribers. World Soccer Talk cites unnamed sources that the discussions between Apple and the Bundesliga are in the preliminary phase and nothing has been concluded yet. Both parties have yet to announce anything via a press release.
