Horrible and shocking news this week from the world of reality television:
According to Amanda Halterman, 1000-Lb Sisters star Amy Slaton’s sister-in-law Caleb Willingham has passed away.
He was only 40 years old.

Willingham married Tammy Slaton in November 2022.
The spouses met in a rehab center in Ohio and were only together for a few months when they exchanged vows… in a ceremony held in the parking lot of this very center.
“Everyone knew me as Tammy Slaton, but now everyone will know me as Mrs. Tammy Willingham,” the TLC personality told People magazine at the time.
“I’m married now!”

However, just five months after the wedding, this union seemed to have ended.
Willingham acknowledged this in late April when he said he was married “on paper” online.
In a since-deleted Facebook post, Willingham said Tammy made the decision to split, admitting to friends at the time:
“I am hurt, angry, confused and alone even with other people around. Thank you for your love, prayer and support.”

No cause of death has been given for Caleb Willingham at this time.
“Please whisper a prayer for our family and all of Caleb’s family,” Amanda wrote on Facebook early Saturday morning. “Caleb Willingham is sitting at the feet of Jesus. Heaven has a good one!
She added:
“I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with him, but the messages he sent got me through so many dark moments.
“I am very grateful for the love he showed my sister and all those he came in contact with.”

We must emphasize again that we don’t know why/how Caleb died.
But an earlier report indicated that her relationship with Slaton ended because Willingham was struggling with her weight and overall health.
“They broke up because Caleb hasn’t been following his diet in rehab,” a Sun source said this spring, adding:
“He’s gained 30 pounds and hasn’t been working on his program.”

For her part, Tammy left rehab months ago and rarely uses a wheelchair at this point.
She has come a long way on her journey.
“They had a big fight over it and he told her he wanted a divorce, but then he tried to back out,” the Sun source claimed in early May of the couple’s contrasting lifestyles.
“She wants someone who can be there for her and her health continues to decline.”

Tammy has yet to comment on Caleb’s passing. (UPDATE: scroll down to see her post.)
However, as you can see above, Willingham’s brother has confirmed this tragedy, writing online:
“I can’t believe I’m making this post but today GOD called my big brother home. RIP Caleb Willingham…my biggest support in everything I do.
“You will be loved and missed forever. Until we meet again.”
What terrible news. We send our condolences to Caleb Willingham’s friends, family and loved ones.
May he rest in peace.

UPDATE: Tammy has posted the following statement on Instagram…
Rest easy sweet angel, we will always miss you and love you so much. Thank you Caleb for showing me true love and happiness.”
