Chelsea and Real Madrid battle it out for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz

According to El Nacional, Chelsea and Real Madrid are looking into a potential move for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, with the two teams eager to sign the young star. The 18-year-old has been in excellent form this season, having contributed 14 goals in just 13 appearances.

Ever since Florian Wirtz became the youngest scorer in the Bundesliga At the age of 17, a lot was expected of the German forward. However, while Bayer Leverkusen went through a chaotic period with several managers taking over and then being fired, Wirtz was the only shining star with the German who showed his prowess. His form combined with his potential and talent has seen the young starlet heavily linked to an estrangement and reports have indicated that Leverkusen may have a hard time keeping him in Germany. El Nacional, however, further reported that both Chelsea Other real Madrid joined the race for Wirtz with them eager to sign the 18-year-old. Barcelona are rumored to be in the game too, but their financial woes could see them come out of the game.

The report further added that both Real Madrid and Chelsea are willing to wait for Florian Wirtz to be ready for the move, even though both sides want to get things done quickly. The 18-year-old has already scored four goals and has seen six more in the league, which has seen his share in the world of football skyrocket, which could complicate matters.
