Christine Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).
The 49-year-old actress took to Twitter on Tuesday (10/21/21) to report that just a few months ago she found out that she suffers from an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system.
She wrote: “Hello friends. Several months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It was a strange journey. But people supported me so much that I know who also has this disease. It was a difficult journey. But, as we all know, the road continues. Unless some ****** blocks it. “
Christina’s neighbor, actress Selma Blair, revealed her own diagnosis of MS three years ago and explained that she first developed symptoms when she walked down the runway for Christian Siriano during 2018 New York Fashion Week.
She said, “I have multiple sclerosis. I have an aggravation. By the grace of a lord, willpower and understanding Netflix producers, I have a job. Great work. I am disabled. Sometimes I fall. I drop things. My memory is fuzzy. And my left side asks for directions from a broken GPS. But we do it. And I laugh, and I don’t know what exactly I will do, but I will do my best. Since my diagnosis is at ten thirty in the evening on the night of August 16th, I received love and support from my friends, especially @jaime_king @sarahmgellar @realfreddieprinze @tarasubkoff @ noah.d.newman.
“And the biggest thanks to @elizberkley who made me see her brother #drjasonberkley, who gave me this diagnosis after finding lesions on that MRI. I had symptoms for years, but I was never taken seriously until I fell.” in front of him, trying to figure out what I thought was a pinched nerve. I have probably suffered from this incurable disease for at least 15 years. And I’m glad to at least find out. And share (sic). “
