The autobiographical thriller, directed by master craftsman Christopher Nolan, has deeply impressed movie fans with its fine filmmaking and stellar performances. Oppenheimer is inspired by the life of theoretical physicist Robert J Oppenheimer, considered the father of the atomic bomb. Cillian Murphy played the title role in Christopher Nolan’s directorial, which marked his sixth outing with the filmmaker.

In his recent interview with BBC Radio 2, along with the other members of Oppenheimer’s cast, Cillian Murphy spoke about Oppenheimer playing the title character in Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed film. She also spoke at length about getting the call from the filmmaker for the movie. “If you’re lucky, you get one or two of those calls in your career, you know? It was the best, the best feeling. It was a little euphoric,” Murphy recalled in her chat.

For the uninitiated, the biographical thriller is based on Robert J Oppenheimer’s autobiography American Prometheus, published in 2005, written by Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin. Along with Cillian Murphy, Christopher Nolan’s direction features an all-star cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek and many others in supporting roles.
