Here’s the full plot synopsis …
What started out as a week-long adventure with friends quickly turns into a terrifying fight for survival at The Stairs. In 1997, a boy goes hunting with his grandfather (Schneider), when he comes across a mysterious stairway deep in the forest. The subsequent disappearance leaves locals baffled about the fate of the wayward couple. Twenty years later, a group of hikers set out on an ambitious trail, entering the same stretch of desert. With each step away from civilization, they go deeper into the treacherous trap of mountainous terrain, where they run into the same sinister set of stairs. Descending deep beneath the earth, they come face to face with the thing that nightmares are made of. “
“I am delighted to finally be able to share The stairs with everyone, ”said Tiemann, the director for the first time. “I fell in love with horror as a child and soon found a way to turn my passion into a career. For this story, I wanted to give the cast, crew and audience a visceral experience, and I hope they enjoy watching it as much as we enjoy making it. “
Tiemann and Jason L. Lowe wrote the script.
