Covid Cases Have Peaked in Blackburn, Official Figures Show |  Black burn

Covid cases in Blackburn with Darwen, the local authority with the highest infection rate in England, have peaked, figures from Public Health England show.

PHE data shows a total of 897 cases in Blackburn with Darwen over the seven days through July 10, giving the city a sliding rate of 599 cases per 100,000 residents.

While this represents an increase of 548.4 the previous week, it is below the 667 figure recorded during the seven days to June 7, the highest for the area since mid-January.

The seven-day moving rate has decreased on each successive day since June 7.

After Blackburn, the local authorities with the highest rates are neighboring Ribble Valley and Hyndburn with respective rates of 458 and 411 cases per 100,000.
