Dana White reacts to the fun contest between Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez

Dana White was fully entertained by the barnburner in between Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez on Saturday.

In awe of the featherweight duo’s fighting skills, White said the UFC Vegas 42 main event was one of the best fights he has ever seen.

After five rounds of back and forth action, Holloway raised his hand in a unanimous decision. The three judges scored the competition 49-46, 48-47 and 48-47 in favor of the Hawaiian.

Speaking to reporters at the post-fight press conference, White said he was surprised to see Holloway fight against Rodriguez’s heavy leg kicks in the second round.

“Insane. One of the best fights I’ve ever seen. And the fact that Yair has been out for two years, comes and performs in a performance like this is unheard of. It was incredible. And then Max … I don’t think there is. he’d make it through round two with calf kicks and made it round five like he probably wouldn’t be able to get out of the octagon on his own. But he’s walking back there like nothing even happened. said his leg is fine. ”

Dana White comments on Max Holloway’s future

Although Dana White denied having argued with who will fight Max Holloway, she seemed positive in booking the trilogy fight between “Blessed” and Alexander Volkanovsky.

White has hinted that the featherweight champion may have to fight Holloway for the third time since the UFC 251 rematch came close.

“[Max Holloway] come in and put on a performance like this. He is the guy who [Alexander] Volkanovski will simply have to get him out of the way and do it again. ”

Holloway also teased a fight against Conor McGregor. The 29-year-old didn’t even shy away from hinting at a potential transition to boxing. White, however, denied commenting on both possibilities.

Holloway and McGregor clashed for the first time in 2013. It was the Irishman who came out victorious by unanimous decision.

McGregor took a dig at Holloway moments before his fellow former featherweight champion colleague Yair Rodriguez. After the main event at UFC Vegas 42, “Blessed” made sure to return the favor.
