Filming on Danny Boyle’s The Sex Pistols has been halted due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The cast and crew working on the six-part show Pistol, which began filming in March, received an email stating that production had been suspended due to illness of people and extras who were supposed to go to set for extras. … later that week, they were told not to travel to keep the case numbers.
According to MailOnline, an email from the Health and Safety Officer read, “We’ve had more reports of positive cases and so we decided to cancel pretesting tomorrow to avoid any potential spread via public transport.
“I am very sorry for the sudden change in plans and the possible inconvenience this may have caused, as you understand that this is an evolving situation and I would like to assure you that we have stopped filming.”
The Pistol, which stars characters such as Anson Boone, Toby Wallace, Iris Lowe, Thomas-Brodie Sangster, Tallulah Riley and Christian Liz, is based on Sex Pistol guitarist Steve Jones’ memoir, Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Gun. … …
Danny is both an executive producer and director of the project, and has previously given fans of the iconic band an idea of what they can expect from the show.
He explained, “Imagine breaking into the world of Crown and Downton Abbey with your comrades and shouting your songs and your rage at whatever they represent.
“This is the moment when British society and culture changed forever. This is the explosion point of British street culture … when ordinary young people took the stage and expressed their rage and their fashion … and everyone had to watch and listen. .. and everyone feared them or followed them.
“It was based on a young charming illiterate kleptomaniac – the hero of his time – Steve Jones, who, in his own words, became the 94th greatest guitarist of all time. So he got into this group. “
