Democrats have insisted since it happened on calling the riot in Washington on January 6, 2021 an “insurrection.”

Putting aside the facts, which include that it was a riot of a few hundred people who vandalized parts of the building, and that President Trump had told his supporters to protest “peacefully,” there are other considerations.

An “insurrection” would require some kind of plan to take over the government, to implement new rules, orders, policies and so on. And what about the command of the armed forces? There have not even been suggestions that there is evidence for this.

However, the Democrats insist that it was an “insurrection” and now it is explained why.

By convincing Americans, and especially judges, that this was an “insurrection,” the Democrats want to use whatever convictions President Trump has to label him an “insurrectionist” and, under the 14th Amendment, keep him off the 2024 ballot. Or prevent him from taking office if elected.

That amendment was adopted after the Civil War and prohibits those who participated in an “insurrection” from holding federal office.

By manipulating the facts about January 6 and redefining various words, leftists hope they can achieve their goal.

A column by Paul Bedard in the Washington Examiner explained: “With the potential third indictment of former President Donald Trump focused on the possibility that he provoked an ‘insurrection’ to challenge the election of President Joe Biden, legal experts are increasingly confident that the goal is to prevent the Republican from serving a second term.”

Trump was previously indicted over business documentation for which the statute of limitations should have expired, but a left-wing prosecutor claimed the offenses were to further unspecified other crimes, making them felonies.

Second came his accusation of having government documents in his home, a case that stands in stark contrast to the fact that Joe Biden and Mike Pence had similar papers in their homes and were not searched or charged.

One detail: Trump as president had the authority to declassify whatever he wanted, as the vice presidents, Pence and Biden did not.

An indictment relating to January 6 is now expected to arrive.

The commentary explained: “If that leads to a single conviction, the insurrection clause in the 14th Amendment written to bar Confederates from holding public office could trigger a ban on Trump ever holding office again, even if elected as the next president on Election Day 2024.”

Commentator Jack Posobiec explained that the “full point” of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Jan. 6 partisan caucus was to “contaminate the jury into already believing it was an insurrection.”

He quoted a Democratic activist who spread the word about the strategy as saying, “Hey, Trump, you think you’re just going to waltz through the primary ballots? The 14th Amendment prohibits you.”

“The Democrats’ end game is the 14th Amendment. Section three says if you’ve been sworn in to protect the Constitution, if you participate in an insurrection, you can no longer serve in federal office. This is the end of the game,” Jed Babbin, a federal legal expert, told Secrets.

“If he is convicted of that, he cannot be president again,” he added.

Mark Levin, the broadcasting giant, agreed. “He told his audience last night that special counsel Jack Smith is pushing to indict Trump soon for a trial before the election,” the report said.

Bedard noted: “Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, or CREW, released a 90-page report yesterday detailing their charges against Trump and allegations of insurrectionary actions.”

It read: “Section 3 is the measure that the Reconstruction-era architects designed to ensure that insurgents like Trump are held accountable and unable to serve in the government they attacked; addressing the current risk is exactly what it’s there for.”
