Being a horror fan is a way of life and for many of us, it all started with some kind of childhood trauma. For me, it was almost always Disney related. I am lucky to have been to both Disneyland and Disney World more times than I can count, and the iconic dark ride, The haunted mansionwhat an integral part of my horror development. We went through a period of time where the mere mention of Disney changing an attraction was considered desecration, but is now welcome. Out of completely massacring EPCOT Trip to the imaginationMany of the modern “updates” have been exemplary.
In fact, in recent years, Disney has played with the Haunted Mansion attraction, not only reintegrating the infamous Hatbox Ghost that was removed from the original ride in 1969, but also digitizing the trio of Hitchhiking Ghosts that now bounce around the end of the ride. Even annually they renew all the attraction to Nightmare Before Christmas for vacations.
Wandering, Disney is back to playing with Haunted Mansion, revealing on their blog that they are adding “new magic” to the Disneyland attraction. What they are planning will remain under the hat of the Hatbox ghost, but we should know as soon as the trip reopens on April 30, 2021.
We’ll update it if it’s anything substantial, but even the smallest tweaks always end up being pretty cool.
