A woman accuses Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer of assault stemming from a sexual encounter earlier this year.
According to TMZ Sports, the Pasadena Police Department is investigating the alleged assault, which occurred in May, and the victim received a temporary domestic violence restraining order in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The woman’s attorney, Marc Garelick, alleged in a statement that his client “suffered severe physical and emotional pain” as a result of a “recent assault” by Bauer.
In a statement Tuesday, Garelick said:
“Our goal is to prevent Mr. Bauer from communicating with our client in any way possible. We anticipate that there will be criminal action against Mr. Bauer, and we hope that the police will take the allegations and our client’s case seriously.”
Bauer’s agent, Jon Fetterolf, also issued a statement denying the allegations. He described Bauer’s relationship with the woman as “consensual” and also called her accusations “baseless” and “defamatory.”
