Does David Montgomery play Monday night? Injury fantasy update for Bears-Steelers Week 9 Monday Night Football

After going up all week, Bears’ RB David Montgomery (knee) appears to be active in Monday Night Football against the Steelers. This has a cascading effect in fantasy football, as Khalil Herbert’s owners are also in the balance to know if Montgomery is playing. We’ll be here with injury updates until kick-off on Monday, but chances are you’ll have to make your own starting and sitting decisions on Sunday when you have more potential backups and fills at your disposal. Fortunately, you can also find training tips below.

We will continue to update this article with news about Montgomery until the official active / inactive report comes out on Monday around 6:45 pm ET. For all the latest fantasy updates, follow us on Twitter @SN_Fantasy.

Does David Montgomery play Monday night?

Montgomery (knee) has not been on the pitch since week 4, but Bears manager Matt Nagy said Saturday there is a “really good chances“RB star fits Monday. Earlier in the week, there was a report that the Bears were hoping Montgomery could at least get.”some work. ”

quarterback | Run back | Large receiver | Tight end | D / ST | Kicker

This actually puts fictional owners in a difficult position. If Montgomery is active, as it appears, he probably won’t see more than 10-12 taps. Against Pittsburgh’s solid defense, this would make him a flex, at best, and he’d probably need to score to reach that status. Montgomery’s activation would leave the Khalil Herbert breakout in a similar position, meaning neither can really be counted.

If Montgomery is out, then Herbert would be a solid RB2. Of course, considering this is the last game of the week, fantasy owners won’t be able to wait for the news, and there are no real viable pins outside of some flex desperation games like TE Pat Freiermuth and possibly WR Darnell Mooney (if is active). The smart move is to play another RB (or WR, if you have Herbert in a flex spot) before Monday. If Montgomery is out, you’ll be shocked that you don’t have Herbert in your lineup, but it seems likely Montgomery will play, so why take that risk?

Chances are you’ll be shocked one way or another, so keep things simple and ignore the Bears RB in the season-long leagues this week. If you really want a piece of them, play a single game DFS contest.
