As far as privacy-focused search engines go, DuckDuckGo is at the top of many people’s lists. DuckDuckGo released a companion web browser for Mac in public beta in 2022, and a Windows version is now available.

DuckDuckGo Browser is now available in beta for Windows computers, allowing you to test the browser and all of its private and secure features. It includes many additions that you may find attractive even if you are not too concerned about your privacy. For one, there’s a private “Duck Player” that lets you play YouTube videos in a sandbox with no ads or impact on your recommendations.

You also get better tracker blocking and website encryption, as well as better cookie/website data management and even a “Fire” button that can wipe data from a website in seconds with a single click. There’s also email protection built into the browser with duck.com addresses for things like one-time logins. Under the hood, it’s using Windows’ WebView2 rendering engine, so it should load pages similar to Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.

If you want to give it a try and you have a Windows PC, you can now download the beta version to give it a try. Keep in mind, however, that this is a beta version, as well as it can have a lot of cool features, it can also have a lot of bugs.
