Facebook is testing a new feature for creators. The new “Green Screen” tool will allow users to add any video or image to the background of Facebook Stories they create. This option is similar to the one already available on Instagram. However, it will be available as an editing tool for the social media app, while on Instagram it is available as an AR filter or effect.
This tool was detected by Mamun Billah via social media today. Based on the shared screenshot, the user can see the option in the stories section. User can choose photo or video from Gallery section. When the user chooses the option, it is also labeled as “Instagram GREEN SCREEN” at the bottom.
Here is the screenshot of the function.

The handy content creator tool is now available on the short video creation app TikTok, which was banned in India last year. There is no confirmation on the new feature being tested on Facebook or its possible future implementation. However, it will certainly add another dimension to creating content on the platform.
Earlier this month, Facebook also rolled out the ability to create reels (short videos) on its platform. The social media giant also announced that it is testing a feature for Instagram content creators in India that allows them to share reels on their Facebook account. The Reel will also be recommended to Facebook users if the content creator has a public account.
