Foolish perhaps, but why not?

Nicola Sturgeon’s government is making tampons and sanitary pads available in its men’s restrooms in case transgender civil servants need them, The Telegraph may reveal.

The Scottish government said it “will provide toilet baskets and a varied selection of sanitary products” in men’s bathrooms “in those places where there are no gender-neutral facilities.”

The number of female to male shemales working as civil servants in the Scottish government which I would put at a low level. A handful.

There are around 22,000 civil servants working in decentralized government (which may or may not be all of those covered by this, but that’s just an estimate of the size). It depends on who you believe, but trans is 0.1% to 2% of the population. Call it 1% then, half of which – although that’s not exact of course – will be female to male.

110 people. For whom should something be implemented in all bathrooms?

Hmm, I don’t know. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out that this is the number with colostomy bags. But hey ho, minor problem, why the hell not?

The point is, sometimes, just sometimes, these distinctions really matter. Save breath for those who do.
