Bill de Blasio is back on the market. Former New York City mayor and his ex-wife Chirlane McCray have announced their separation from him after 30 years of marriage.
McCray and de Blasio announced their separation in a joint interview with The New York Times On Wednesday.
The couple said they had a heart-to-heart talk about two months ago and discovered they were no longer “lovey-dovey.”

McCray and de Blasio said they are looking forward to moving forward with others.
“I just want to have fun,” said McCray, who was a lifelong lesbian when they met.
They said their marriage began to unravel in 2020 during his run for the White House.
“I thought it was a distraction,” McCray said of de Blasio’s disastrous presidential campaign.

De Blasio, 62, admitted he had second and third thoughts about marrying a reformed lesbian.
“There was a part of me that sometimes said, ‘Hmmm, is this like a time bomb? Is it something you will regret later? So I always lived with those things.”
