A few months after his world debut, the BMW 4 Series G24 Gran Coupe was launched in Singapore. Customers will have three variants to choose from, starting with the 420i M Sport which retails at SGD273.888 (RM843.989) inclusive of COE and SGD15.000 (RM46.222) Vehicular Emissions Scheme (VES) due to its band C1 supplement.
The next step up is the 430i M Sport Pro, which is also found in the C1 range, so with the supplement, the asking price is SGD 330,888 (about RM 1.02 million). On top is the performance-focused M440i xDrive that comes with a VES band of C2 that brings with it an additional SGD25,000 (RM77,037) for a total of SGD409,888 (approximately RM1,263 million) .
Compared to its predecessor, the latest 4 Series Gran Coupe is a much larger vehicle, with a length of 4,783mm (+143mm), a width of 1,852mm (+27mm) and a height of 1,442mm (+ 53 mm). Wheelbase has also grown by 46mm to 2,856mm, which is also fivemm more than a standard 3 Series.
Under the hood, the 420i sports a 2.0-liter B48 turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 184 PS (181 PS) and 300 Nm of torque, good for a 0-100 km / h of 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 235 km / H. The 430i ups the ante with a more powerful version of the B48 that produces 245PS (241PS) and 400Nm for a shorter sprint time of 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 250km / h higher.
Meanwhile, the M440i xDrive is powered by a 3.0-liter B58 turbocharged inline six with an output of 374 PS (369 PS) and 500 Nm, with additional assistance coming from a 48-volt lightweight hybrid system that provides a temporary boost of 11 hp. This is the fastest accelerating variant of the bunch, taking just 4.7 seconds to go from 0-100km / h, although top speed is limited to 250km / h.
All variants feature an eight-speed automatic transmission (Steptronic on the 420i and Steptronic Sport on the 430i and M440i) along with rear-wheel drive, with the exception of the top of the range which gets an xDrive all-wheel drive system instead.
In terms of equipment, the basic option includes 18-inch M alloy wheels, M Sport passive suspension, LED headlights, Live Cockpit Professional (12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen) and a range of safety and driver assistance systems: active cruise control, steering and lane control assistant, frontal collision warning and more.
The 430i M Sport Pro and M440i xDrive have larger 19-inch wheels and adaptive M Sport suspension, with the latter variant also benefiting from an M Sport differential. Other improvements include an M Sport steering wheel and seats, a Harman Kardon surround sound system, Vernasca leather upholstery and an electric sunroof (mid-spec variant only).
Customers will have a few cost options to choose from depending on the variant chosen, including BMW Individual leather trim, adaptive LED headlights, BMW Laserlight, an M carbon exterior package and M Performance components.
