The New York Giants activated Saquon barkley from the list Physically unable to perform and their star runner is expected to return to practice on Monday.
Barkley suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee last September during week 2 of the 2020 season and was out for the rest of the year.
Barkley, 24, was the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and made an immediate impact on the Giants’ lineup that season, rushing for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns to win the offensive rookie of the year award.
The Giants also activated outside linebacker Oshane Ximines on Monday.
New York’s season opener is Sept. 12 against the Denver Broncos.
