Vegas Golden Knights goalkeeper Robin Lehner will not dress for Game 2 of his second-round series against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.
Marc-Andre Fleury will start for Las Vegas after Lehner got the call in Game 1, which Colorado won in a 7-1 beating. Lehner wasn’t on the ice for warm-ups with Logan Thompson taking his place alongside Fleury after he was called to the taxi squad.
Head coach Pete DeBoer didn’t officially name a starter for Game 2, but when asked who would score the goal, he replied, “It’s probably obvious what the answer is.”
Lehner did not participate in the team’s morning skating at Ball Arena and a DeBoer decision at playing time.
“I feel bad because Robin was thrown to that one, to the lions, where we didn’t have our best game there and they had the best,” Fleury said after Game 1. “It’s not fun. But for me personally, it was good to have a few days, rest my legs a bit, take it easy.”
