In Word: Good news for those who, for whatever reason, need a quick and easy way to delete their recent browsing activity on mobile devices: the privacy feature previously announced by Google that will remove the last 15 minutes of search history on mobile devices now is being implemented.
It was at Google I / O 2021 that the company announced the “quick delete” option along with several other tools focused on security and privacy. The firm said it was one of the functions most demanded by users.
The tool is currently only available on Google’s iOS app, but will be coming to Android later “this year.” according to the company.
Using quick delete requires signing in to Search with a Google account. Users can access the option by simply tapping the avatar icon to access settings and then choosing “Delete last 15 minutes”.
Those on the desktop can delete their web and app activity automatically (via Activity Controls) every three, eighteen, or thirty-six months, in addition to manually clearing all history or deleting each entry one by one.
Google insists that it only tracks users’ search history as a way to “personalize” the experience when the “App and web activity” setting is enabled.
Previously, deleting Google search history on mobile devices was not that simple for some users, so making the whole process much faster and easier is a welcome change, especially for anyone browsing content that they would prefer than others. did not know.
