Poor Paul Frew, he was only at work two weeks and now he’s out.

From your profileIt seems like 35-year-old Gordon Lyons has never had a job outside of News Block. He was an assistant to Sammy Wilson before becoming an MLA.
At this point, it would be easy to make a joke about his lack of real-world experience, but it’s just another example of how News Block is now full of party members. The same is happening in Westminster and the Dáil Éireann. Career progression is now: 1) join a party at the University; 2) assistant to a politician; 3) run to the party.
There is a major problem with political parties that cannot attract people with real world skills and experience. But when you see the abuse politicians receive in the media and online, you can understand the great reluctance of people to come forward with their names. Who would want that hassle?
I think we should have the American system where anyone can be appointed to cabinet positions. We need some way for civic minded people to volunteer their time and skills.
My suggestion to Mr. Lyons is that he appoint an advisory panel, many entrepreneurs are more than happy to offer their services for free.
