There are endless ways to make a green juice. Tracy piper, founder and owner of the Piper Center for Internal Wellness in New York, is committed to vegetable combinations without fruits or sweet vegetables. He prepares fresh batches for his clients in New York and for anyone lucky enough to experience one of his five-day detox retreats in upstate. At home, green juice is a staple: “I’m in my 50s, so I try to find vegetables and vegetable combinations that will help me as I get older.”

We asked Piper to share three recipes for the green juice she has in rotation this summer.

Romaine in the game

“What I love about this juice is that even amateur juice drinkers can handle it.”

1 bunch of romaine lettuce

8 sprigs of parsley

1 bunch of celery

1 or 2 English cucumbers, peeled

1 lemon peeled

Dill with that

“This humble-looking vegetable is rich in flavonoids.”

4 sprigs of dill (can be added
more if you love dill)

1 bunch of celery

2 English cucumbers, peeled

1 lime, peeled

Cabbage field

“Cabbage is the star here this A beautiful cruciferous vegetable can help maintain a healthy inflammatory response. I always say yes to cabbage. “

½ green cabbage

2 cucumbers, peeled

4 kale leaves, destemmed

1 lemon peeled

THE VEGETABLE JUICER

Slow juice is smooth, so your juice tastes better and is more nutritious, without the tendency to separate or foam. The Hurom version takes daily juicing one step further – this model is specifically designed to juice celery, leafy greens, wheatgrass, and root vegetables, so you get more juice and don’t spend your morning picking celery threads from the auger. And it handles fruits, nuts, and garlic just as delicately, and it even makes noodles.
