Hakim Ziyech’s planned transfer to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr fell through over concerns over a knee problem discovered during his medical. The £8m move, which would have allowed Ziyech to join forces with Cristiano Ronaldo, is now highly unlikely to be revived. As a result, Ziyech’s future with Chelsea has become uncertain, despite the club’s desire to see him go.
This botched transfer marks Ziyech’s second failed attempt to leave Stamford Bridge, with a potential loan move to PSG in January also falling apart due to incomplete paperwork before the deadline. Ziyech, who was acquired by Chelsea from Ajax for £33 million in 2020, made 24 appearances last season, but most of those came as a substitute.
Despite still having two years left on his contract, Ziyech’s time with Chelsea has been disappointing so far.
