The Harry Potter store in New York is one day away from opening, with some COVID security protocols in place to ensure that everyone can enter safely. A recent press day allowed a select few to roam the store and experience all that fans will be able to see and do on opening day.
Most die-hard Harry Potter fans know that there are a few things you can only experience by heading to one of Universal Studios’ theme parks: choosing the right wand, for example, or sipping a fresh butterbeer straight from the tap. Visiting these areas in the parks makes you feel like you’ve been transported to the real Wizarding World, and it’s challenging to replicate them elsewhere. After spending a few hours in the new space that is opening in New York, I can safely say that a visit will feel like experiencing a little piece of the parks.
Harry Potter New York will open to the public on Thursday, June 3 at 935 Broadway. Crowds will be managed using a virtual queue instead of everyone passing through the new space at the same time. Those who show up once the store opens will be asked to scan a barcode, which will assign them a time to arrive and explore the store.
