Meditech, a provider of healthcare software, has announced that its platform will support the exchange of health data with doctors and hospitals on iOS 15.
The inclusion of medical records will allow iOS 15 users to securely share health-related data with their healthcare providers. Users will be able to choose what data they want to share with doctors and hospitals.
On the healthcare provider side, physicians will be able to view a user’s data within a web-based dashboard without needing to log into a separate system.
If a user wants, they can share data from iPhone, Apple Watch, and a variety of third-party apps or accessories. This could allow medical professionals to monitor and analyze trends or changes over time. Meditech says its system is designed for privacy and security. All data is end-to-end encrypted and will remain secure after transit.
Along with Meditech, Cerner, Allscripts, AthenaHealth, CPSI, and DrChrono will also support secure sharing when it launches in the fall.
Meditech says that current healthcare providers using its platform will get more details on enrollment in the coming weeks.
