On December 2, 2022, Netflix revealed that the second season of the show had officially wrapped filming. The media company posted a photo on Instagram of actors Kit Connor and Joe Locke with writer Alice Oseman, along with the caption: “And that’s a recap of ‘Heartstopper’ season 2… à bientôt.”

The French phrase, which translates to “see you soon,” makes a lot of sense considering the cast has been seen filming in Paris. Additionally, “Heartstopper” is based on a series of young adult graphic novels by Oseman, and in the books the cast heads to the City of Love. In June 2022, Netflix announced that the show had been renewed for not only the second season, but also the third.
