Honda takes the best position in the Top 20 just as the new generation of Civics arrives.

New car sales in Turkey suffered another sharp decline in October to -40.1% yoy to 56,746 units, but year-to-date volume remains positive at + 4.8% and 616,470 sales. The leader of the Fiat brand (-29%) leaps to 21.6% of share compared to 16.4% this year while Ford (-42.2%) rises to no. 2 and 11.7% compared to 9.1% from the beginning of the year despite a burning loss. Renault (-49.1%) drops one position to No. 3, Peugeot (-29.8%) rises by two points to no. 4 and Volkswagen (-42.1%) remains at no. 5. A spectacular artist last month, Hyundai (-16.9%) is back in negative territory, albeit a bit contained, and drops two places to # 6. This time Honda (-4.5%) and Citroen (-8.2%) recorded the best performances and only single-digit drops within the Top 10 – and Top 20. Only brands with a share of 0.2 % or less manage an increase from year to year: among these Maserati (+ 650%), Lexus (+ 118.8%), Subaru (+ 118.5%), Jaguar (+ 43.5%), Mazda (+ 27.8%) and Karsan (+ 23.5%).
