Recently, I have been looking for a smartphone that is a bit different from regular smartphones in terms of processor type. I had to settle for the Infinix Smart 7 Plus x6517 smartphone due to its unique processor (Unisoc SC9863A1).
As we all know, Infinix usually partners with MediaTek (MTK) when it comes to processors, they rarely use snapdragon processors, although they did use it in one of their smartphones, which was the Infinix Hot 3.
Things did not go well, there were a lot of complaints about the Hot 3 smartphone. But this time they are trying something new and not the usual.
In this post, we will be talking about the Infinix Smart 7 x6517 smartphone, also known as the Infinix Smart 7 Plus, which was released in February 2023. By the end of this article, you should be able to decide whether to get the Smart 7 x6517 smartphone. Or not.

Infinix Smart 7 x6517 review
Design and display
The Infinix smart 7 x6517 has a sleek and stylish design that comes in four different colors: black, blue, green, and purple. The back is made of plastic. The phone has a rectangular camera module in the upper left corner that houses two lenses and an LED flash and a fingerprint scanner. The phone measures 164.20 x 75.63 x 9.37mm and weighs 207 grams.

The Infinix Smart 7 x6517 screen is one of its main attractions. The phone has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels and a pixel density of 263 ppi. The display has a waterdrop notch at the top that houses the selfie camera.
The display also supports a 60Hz refresh rate which makes animations and transitions smoother and more responsive. The display has good brightness, contrast, and color reproduction, but it lacks sharpness and clarity due to the low resolution. The display also has a wide viewing angle and decent readability in bright sunlight.
Camera
The Infinix Smart 7 Plus has a dual camera setup at the back, consisting of a 13MP main lens and a 0.3MP depth sensor. The main camera can capture decent photos in good lighting conditions, with accurate colors and details.
However, it struggles in low-light situations, as photos tend to be blurry. The depth sensor helps create bokeh for portraits, but it’s not very accurate and sometimes blurs the edges of the subject. The camera also lacks features like HDR, panorama, and night mode, which are common on other budget phones.
The front camera of the Infinix Smart 7 x6517 is a 5MP lens that can take selfies and video calls. The selfie camera has an LED flash that can light up your face in dark environments, but it also makes your skin look washed out and unnatural. Selfie camera can also apply some beauty filters and stickers to enhance your appearance, but they are not very realistic and sometimes distort your facial features.
The video recording quality of the Infinix Smart 7 Plus is average at best. The phone can shoot videos at 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second, but the videos lack stability and clarity. Audio quality is also poor, with the microphone picking up a lot of background noise and distortion.
hardware and software
The Infinix Smart 7 X6517 has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels. The screen is bright and colorful, but not very sharp or detailed. It is powered by a Unisoc SC9863A1 chipset with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The device has a dual rear camera setup, a 13MP main sensor and a 0.3MP depth sensor. The front camera is a 5MP sensor with LED flash.
Moving on to the software aspect, the smart 7 comes with a RAM expansion feature that can be used to expand the RAM up to a maximum of 3 GB, giving you a total of 7 GB of RAM. The device runs on Android 12 operating system based on XOS 12.0.0 and some pre-installed Google apps.
Grid
Smart phone 7 Plus supports 4g, 3g and 2g networks. Unfortunately, the Infinix Smart 7 x6517 does not come with 5G network support.
Battery
If you are looking for a cheap smartphone with a long battery life, you might want to consider the Infinix Smart 7 (X6517) smartphone.
This device comes with a large 6000 mAh battery that can easily last two days on a single charge, it also supports 10W fast charging. According to Infinix, the battery can provide up to 40 hours of talk time, up to 15 hours of playback of video, up to 20 hours of web browsing or up to 35 days of standby.
In our tests, we found that the battery can easily last two days with moderate use, which includes calling, messaging, social media, gaming, and streaming. Your device also has a power saving mode that can further extend battery life by limiting some features and functions.

What I like about the Infinix smart 7 x6517
The design of the back
The rear design of the Smart 7 Plus looks appealing to the eye. I love the way the cameras and fingerprints were placed. I also love how the camera and fingerprint were restricted with a line going around them at four corners. What about the lines all over the back of the phone? Gives a good grip in the hand.
the cpu
I have not reviewed any smartphone on this blog with a Unisoc processor, and that was one of the reasons why I got this smartphone. I wanted to see and feel what it feels like to use a Unisoc processor, so far so good, the device runs smoothly.
What I don’t like about the Infinix smart 7 x6517
The camera
The bad side of this smartphone is its bad camera. The rear camera is a bit better than the front camera, for sure. The 5MP selfie camera is nothing to write home about. The selfie camera only takes good photos when there is enough light in the environment. But in dimly lit areas, the image looked washed out and blurry.

Conclusion
The Infinix Smart 7 X6517 is one of the best budget smartphones when it comes to battery life. It can outlast many other devices in its price range that have smaller batteries or more power-hungry processors. The device also offers decent performance, a large screen, and a full Android operating system with some useful features.
However, the device also has some drawbacks, such as a low-resolution screen, average camera quality, and heavy weight.
The Infinix Smart 7 Plus x6517 is not a great choice for photography lovers like the Tecno Spark 10 smartphone, as it has mediocre cameras that do not offer much versatility or quality.
But if you’re looking for a basic phone that can handle your daily tasks and last longer on a single charge, you may find the Infinix Smart 7 x6517 satisfactory.
