Mahindra surprised everyone with the launch of the XUV700. The main attraction of their brand new SUV besides the long list of features is the price. It offers several premium features that are normally seen in cars and SUVs in the luxury segment. Deliveries for the XUV700 have already begun and there is a long waiting period for the SUV. Toyota Fortuner is an SUV positioned above XUV700 and is also a popular SUV in its respective segment. Here we have a comparison video, where the internal space and features on the XUV700 and Fortuner are compared.

The video was uploaded by Power behind the wheel on their YouTube channel. The video begins by showing the third row space in the Toyota Fortuner. The second row seats can be folded down from either side to access the third row, however, there is no room in Fortuner for adults. It offers AC vents but there are no charging points or airflow controllers for third-row passengers in the Fortuner.

In XUV700, only the seats on the left side can be folded down. The car gets more space in the third row than the Fortuner. It also offers a 12V charging socket and an airflow controller and cup holder. Fortuner offers a dark-themed cabin that leaves the impression that it doesn’t offer much space. The second row seats can be slid and folded individually while in the XUV700 the seats cannot be slid. XUV offers a light colored cabin which gives it an airy and premium feel.

It offers a large panoramic roof that Fortuner otherwise lacks. The video says the XUV700’s cabin feels much more premium and roomy than the Fortuner. Moving on to the first line, the vlogger talks about the features provided by Fortuner. Toyota offers an updated touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, storage compartments, cooled glove box, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable driver and passenger seats and so on.

Mahindra offers Mercedes-Benz-like features such as 10.25-inch dual digital screens. One of them is the instrument cluster and the other is the touchscreen infotainment system, which also comes with connected car functionality and has Alexa built in. The XUV700 offers ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and much more.

Vlogger claims that the Mahindra XUV700 looks like a better value for money product as it offers so many features. It still lacks features like ventilated seats. Vlogger says Toyota needs to consider upgrading the Fortuner with more features, especially when the high-end variant now costs over Rs 50 lakh in many Indian cities. In terms of the leadership position, the vlogger felt comfortable with Fortuner and said it’s his personal opinion. He said XUV700 offers better ride quality.

Mahindra XUV700 is offered with petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine and is equipped with manual and automatic transmission. The diesel version uses a 2.2-liter turbo engine that comes with manual and automatic transmission. Only the high-end diesel automatic version gets AWD as an option. The Fortuner is also available with the petrol and diesel engine option and both engine options get manual and automatic transmission with 4 × 4 offered with diesel only.
