Jamie Dornan has never been “confident” with women.
The 39-year-old actor, who has three daughters from his wife Amelia Warner, has always been “amazed” at how casual his friends were of the opposite sex, because he never had a “game”, so he would love to be in scripts like Anthony, his character in Wild Mountain Thyme, haunted by his neighbor Rosemary (Emily Blunt).
He said: “I wish I had a woman like this haunted me when I was younger! This would be the ideal scenario for me growing up because I am not confident when it comes to dealing with women. Never. it was in me.
“I was always amazed to see my mates approach girls in bars and just talk to them. I saw girls laughing and I always thought, “What are you saying to these women? “I definitely didn’t have a game.
“When I met my wife, it all happened by fluke.
“Fortunately, I did not have to be aggressively pursued, and I was not pursued aggressively.”
Jamie felt that the character shared many of his insecurities and put his own “weirdness” into the role.
He said Britain is fine! magazine: “As a character, I probably felt closer to Anthony than anyone else I’ve ever played, but I don’t mean that we are identical or we have a lot in common.
“However, there is something about his lack of self-confidence that I think we can all acknowledge.
“Sometimes we hide it all. Especially in this industry and this game. You often have to talk to people and need to do your best and show your best version of yourself – but in reality, you often struggle with insecurities.
“I have pretty weird tendencies, and I felt that Anthony was a platform for me to insert all my own weirdness into someone, and then let them simmer and develop what they were going to do.”
